I have had an issue few years back.my spare room bed caught on fire in West Asheville I called the fire department and they put It out it was a E-Cig caught on fire Their was a Fireman that got mad at me because I didn't want to go to the hospital a neighbor gave me a glass of water, Finally I will Go get checked out at the hospital I said wait a minute Let me get a sip of this water and that fireman knocked it out of my mouth and broke my tooth out, The Chief came and that fire Man was taken out of There I Said I come from That is Assault and battery I was so thankful for the rest of the fireman that I did not file charges I know this is not child rape but it is an incident I will never forget Personally I think he was an Asheville cop that probably got fired

Asheville has earned it’s reputation. Voters have the opportunity to vote for candidates to fix Asheville’s problems and they don’t. Support for police has been abysmal. You talk about reparations when your infrastructure is crumbling, not to mention Asheville’s drug culture, homeless and panhandling issues. Your support for DEI has resulted in a city government largely staffed by ineffective, incompetent bureaucrats. Asheville’s reliance on a service economy has resulted in low wages and a transient population of renters. The fact that, “crime is all over” should not be an argument against action.
