Smoke coming from roof of Balsam Lake home

As discussed during the dispatch call, fire crews and law enforcement responded to reports of smoke coming from the roof of a residence near West Main Street in Balsam Lake. A neighbor, who believed the occupants were out of town, reported the smoke and could not see any flames. Officers checked the house, confirmed no one was inside, and then exited as smoke in the attic began to spread into the home while they waited for fire units.
