Smoke from pot left on stove in Freeport apartment

As discussed during the dispatch call, dispatch received a report of a possible kitchen fire in an apartment after a pot was left on the stove and began producing heavy smoke. The caller and children had evacuated, but the caller reported difficulty reaching an elderly relative who was still inside. Responding units described the residence as a one-story brick apartment and reported no active fire at that time, but requested a fan to help ventilate the smoke.
