Phone scam targets resident with fake bank call

As discussed during the dispatch call, deputies received a report near Herbster of a possible phone scam in which a caller falsely claimed to be from a bank and said there was fraud on the victim’s account. The victim did not provide personal information and later confirmed with their own bank that it appeared to be a scam, which was then reported to the sheriff’s office.
