Wed afternoon was interruprled by a large smokey house fire. About 1:08pm the call came in for a structural fire at 24491 JUTEWOOD PL, LAKE FOREST, CA.
The homeowner stated that she heard a loud noise and her daughter started hollering for everyone to get out. The mom and daughter exited but another person took longer to exit. This person was taken by EMTSs and treated for smoke and then transported taken by ambulance from the scene. The mom stated that all others got out safely.
One neighbor on the culdackc stated he heard a loud explosion and ran out help.
OCFA was on the scene quickly but east side of the home and roof was well involved. The thick, almost black, smoke was being wind blown all the way to Muirlands blvd making driving difficult for motorists.
OCFA luckily were able keep tha fire away from neighboring properties even with initial heavy winds. OCFA started venting roof and found the fire spreading inside the attic. Smoke began exiting from western roof vents.
