Vehicle crashes into building at Middletown restaurant

I heard engine 51 answer a call I believe it was wires down for the 1st time in over 6 months. I was told engine 51 is going to be replaced that was told to me a year and a half ago but instead Rescue Engine 52 has been and it's running also as a Paramedic engine. What is going on with my former Fire department. There are at least 8 ALS services in this county So why Use fire engines to do the work of a ALS unit. those trucks cost just under a half of a million dollars compared to a $20 to 30,000 suburban expedition..When I was in the fire / Rescue service in this county the ALS service 1st chase unit was a dodge diplomat " Medic 2 " Iknew several medics from all over this county You all are going to destroy these new engines that you're using for ALS response vehicles. 8 ton vehicles 30ft long cannot maneuver or stop quick enough no matter what the weather and road conditions are as compared to vehicles half or less then their weight and size.
