Fire crew checks unknown substance in red barrel

As discussed during the dispatch call, fire personnel were sent near Sunset Drive in Monroe to examine a red barrel labeled sulfate containing an apparent unknown substance on a caller’s property, after state police requested that the fire department inspect it. In a separate call, police were advised that a caller’s car had reportedly been hit in a hospital parking lot and the caller requested a follow-up to view the vehicle.
